Zurab Pataradze visits Khichauri Public School together with Members of Parliament

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, together with Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia; members of the committee; Anzor Bolkvadze, Majoritarian MP for Khulo, Shuakhevi and Keda Municipalities; and Maia Khajishvili, Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara, visited Khichauri Public School in Shuakhevi Municipality.

As part of the visit, the committee members toured public schools in Khulo and Shuakhevi Municipalities and discussed the needs and challenges facing educational institutions in the highlands of Ajara.

According to Zurab Pataradze, continuous improvement of educational infrastructure and ensuring equal access to quality education for students in the mountainous regions of Ajara remain among the Government’s key priorities.

The meeting also focused on one of the major challenges facing the highlands of Ajara - migration, which has led to a decline in student enrolment. It was noted that this trend has slowed following the completion of the Khulo–Akhaltsikhe road, while the number of first-grade pupils enrolling in local schools has been gradually increasing.
