Zurab Pataradze, the Chairman of the Government of Ajara meets with Givi Mikanadze, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia
The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, met with the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze.
During the meeting, Givi Mikanadze congratulated Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, on his new post. The Minister stated that Zurab Pataradze's many years of successful work experience make it realistic to expect a number of key initiatives to be undertaken in the region, both educationally and otherwise.
At the meeting, the parties addressed current and upcoming educational projects in the region. It was emphasised that effective implementation of the planned reforms at all three levels of education requires coordinated cooperation between central and local governments, as well as proactive communication with individuals involved in education and the larger community.
According to Zurab Pataradze, the development of educational infrastructure, the promotion of general, vocational and higher education, and the creation of new opportunities for young people are among the main priorities in the region.
‘Today, we had a very interesting and crucial meeting where we discussed ongoing and proposed educational reforms. The discussion covered both higher and vocational institutions, as well as the dynamics occurring in public schools. These are the most pressing concerns facing our government. Today, at four municipalities in the region - Shuakhevi, Khulo, Keda, and Khelvachauri - the Minister of Education will have the opportunity to enlighten the local community about the reforms he outlined.
Our top goal is the expansion of school infrastructure, the construction of new schools, and the enhancement of the current material and technological foundation. Up to 30 new schools and 70 schools will be built and rehabilitated between 2026 and 2028. Our administration and the regional government prioritise caring for future generations,- said Zurab Pataradze.
