Zurab Pataradze Pays Tribute to the Memory of Zurab Gorgiladze

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, together with representatives of the legislative and executive authorities and members of the public, paid tribute to the memory of Zurab Gorgiladze and attended an event dedicated to the poet’s 89th anniversary.

Addressing the audience, Zurab Pataradze spoke about Zurab Gorgiladze as one of the distinguished representatives of Georgian poetry, a devoted advocate of the region, a public figure, and emphasized the importance of his literary legacy.

‘Today, Zurab Gorgiladze once again brought together the public, his friends, and admirers through his poetry and legacy. He was a humble and distinguished person who promoted our region throughout the country. We fondly remember celebrating his 80th anniversary in 2017, and preparations for his 90th anniversary next year have already begun. I am confident that many future generations will continue to be inspired by his poetry, and together we will carry forward the work and values that Zurab Gorgiladze dedicated his life to,’ said the Chairman of the Government of Ajara.

Zurab Gorgiladze is the author of more than 20 poetry collections, and his works are included in major Georgian-language anthologies. He served as a member of the Supreme Council of Ajara for two terms, was a laureate of the Memed Abashidze State Prize, a recipient of the Order of Honor, and the winner of numerous literary awards.
