Zurab Pataradze meets with Representatives of the Georgian Diaspora

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, met with representatives of the Georgian diaspora during his official visit to the Republic of Türkiye.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Federation of Georgian-Caucasian Associations of Marmara, as well as the heads of Georgian associations in İznik, İnegöl, Orhangazi, Gemlik, Bursa, Balıkesir, and Gölcük.

During the meeting, Zurab Pataradze highlighted the Georgian diaspora’s outstanding role in strengthening Georgian-Turkish relations and preserving the Georgian language, culture, traditions and historical heritage.

“We held a very important meeting with representatives of the Georgian diaspora. We reaffirmed the close strategic partnership and high-level political dialogue between Georgia and Türkiye, while emphasizing the diaspora’s exceptional contribution to strengthening the ties between our two countries.

We also discussed a number of important initiatives that we plan to implement together. Our diplomatic missions, government institutions and business representatives are actively involved in this process, creating broader opportunities for cooperation,” Zurab Pataradze said.

The meeting also focused on the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye, with discussions covering opportunities to further strengthen trade, economic, tourism, cultural and educational relations.

According to Zurab Pataradze, the Government of Ajara is ready to launch new initiatives together with the Georgian diaspora, promote the Georgian language and traditions, and further strengthen the long-standing friendship and partnership between the two countries.

Alongside the official meetings, members of the delegation visited local landmarks, including the Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum and a 700-year-old village in Bursa Province, which has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2014.

The meeting was also attended by Archil Kalandia, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Türkiye; Aleksandre Jishkariani, Consul General of Georgia in Istanbul; members of the Parliament of Georgia; representatives of the Governments of Ajara and Abkhazia; and members of the Supreme Council of Ajara.
