Zurab Pataradze Meets with Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, met with David Songulashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priorities for the development of the agricultural sector, support programs for farmers, and future plans for the industry. Special attention was paid to measures aimed at increasing the competitiveness of agriculture and protecting crops, including the importance of coordinated efforts between central and regional agencies in combating the Asian stink bug.

‘We discussed several important issues, programs, and projects implemented across the region with the support of the central government. I believe we had a very productive meeting, as we discussed the needs of our farmers, existing challenges, and opportunities that will contribute to the further development of agriculture,’ said Zurab Pataradze.

The parties also discussed the introduction of innovative approaches in agriculture and prospects for the development of agro-tourism. It was noted that promoting modern technologies, developing irrigation infrastructure, and supporting environmentally friendly production will significantly increase the productivity of the sector.

The importance of close cooperation between central and regional authorities was also emphasized. The parties noted that the implementation of projects aimed at improving citizens’ well-being and supporting the development of villages in Ajara will continue actively in the future.
