Zurab Pataradze meets with employees of the Departments of Tourism and Resorts and Roads
The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, met with employees of the sub-departmental institutions of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara - the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara and the Department of Roads of Ajara.
At the meetings, the Chairman of the Government received information about the already implemented, ongoing and planned activities in specific areas.
When discussing tourism projects, emphasis was drawn to the concerns of building target markets, developing high-mountain municipalities, and maximising the potential of the Goderdzi Pass. Zurab Pataradze stated that, in addition to the steady increase in tourist traffic, it is critical to improve service quality and develop new tourist routes.
'Tourism is a top priority for our region's growth and success. We received a detailed report from the Tourism Department on future plans to improve services, which will undoubtedly be reflected in both statistical indicators and a rise in the number of visitors to our region in the near future,’ said Zurab Pataradze.
At a meeting held at the Ajara Roads Department, projects planned to improve road infrastructure across the region were discussed. It was highlighted that both road development and restoration projects are now ongoing and would continue apace.
‘We reviewed the Roads Department's current and planned projects, which included the renovation of central, internal, and country roads. One of the top priorities is to improve road infrastructure. Creating decent conditions for the population is exactly what our country and government care about,’ – Zurab Pataradze noted.
According to Zurab Pataradze, the goal of such meetings is to coordinate all government bodies and agencies, form a unified vision, and through joint efforts, maximize the use of the diverse economic potential of the region.
