Zurab Pataradze Meets with Employees of Batumi Botanical Garden

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, together with government officials and the Mayor of Batumi, Giorgi Tsintsadze, met with employees of the Batumi Botanical Garden.

The Chairman highlighted the importance of the botanical garden as one of the region’s most distinguished tourist attractions.

‘We had a very interesting and productive meeting. We discussed the future development directions of the botanical garden, and I was informed about upcoming plans and projects. The ongoing works are truly impressive. The Government will be actively involved, and special attention will be paid to the implementation of these projects.

The botanical garden plays an important role in terms of science, ecology, and tourism. It is especially important that the garden remains active throughout all four seasons,’ said Zurab Pataradze.

The Batumi Botanical Garden is entering a new stage of development, with its functions continuing to expand. Ecological, scientific, and tourism directions are being further strengthened. At the same time, major infrastructural projects are planned in the highland areas of Ajara, including the development of the Alpine Botanical Garden, the Green and Black Lakes area, and Beshumi.

The role of the botanical garden in green space management is also increasing.

According to Zurab Pataradze, the Government will actively support initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening the garden’s tourism potential and establishing it as a venue for international congresses, conferences, and meetings.

The Chairman also inspected the botanical garden’s infrastructure, including its nursery and greenhouse facilities.
