Zurab Pataradze inspects sports infrastructure in Batumi and Kobuleti Municipalities

Zurab Pataradze inspected sports infrastructure projects in Batumi and Kobuleti Municipalities.

As part of the visit, the Chairman toured the football training bases on Angisa and Leonidze streets and also visited the recently rehabilitated Chele Arena in Kobuleti. He held a meeting with Temur Mikeladze, President of FC Dinamo Batumi, to discuss the development of football infrastructure and the promotion of football among young people.

Together with Tsotne Ananidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, and Revaz Chelebadze, veteran footballer, Zurab Pataradze also met with young participants of the Chele Cup tournament at Chele Arena.

“Important infrastructure works are underway at Chele Arena in Kobuleti. A modern lighting system has been installed, enabling the stadium to host championships and other sporting events. At the same time, interior renovation works are continuing.

We also discussed the current needs and future development of the football training bases in Batumi. Interest in football among children and young people continues to grow, with the number of teams increasing every year. This requires further investment in sports infrastructure.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting sports development remain among the Government’s key priorities. We will continue to do everything possible to further develop football in our region,” Zurab Pataradze said.

As part of the second stage of the rehabilitation project, lighting poles have been installed, wells have been drilled, while fencing and interior renovation works are ongoing. The artificial turf has been replaced on the main football pitch and two training fields.

The Angisa Football Training Base comprises four football pitches, two of which are already operational. Construction of two additional pitches is planned. Two stadiums, each with a seating capacity of more than 400 spectators, are already hosting official matches.

Gia Chkonia, Member of the Parliament of Georgia; Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara; Giorgi Tsintsadze, Mayor of Batumi; Irakli Tsetskhladze, Mayor of Kobuleti; Levan Kvantaniliani, Head of the Ajara Project Management Company; and representatives of Batumi and Kobuleti City Halls and Municipal Councils also attended the site visit.
