Zurab Pataradze inspects road infrastructure and rehabilitation projects in Khelvachauri and Kobuleti Municipalities

Road infrastructure projects are actively underway across Ajara.

Zurab Pataradze inspected ongoing road rehabilitation works in Kobuleti and Khelvachauri Municipalities together with Zaza Shavadze, Head of the Roads Department of Ajara.

According to Zurab Pataradze, road rehabilitation projects play a vital role in ensuring safe transportation, particularly in areas with high traffic volumes and increased movement of both local residents and visitors.

“Developing safe and high-quality road infrastructure remains one of our top priorities. Our goal is to ensure comfortable and safe travel to every municipality and village. Every project is closely monitored to ensure its timely completion. We remain committed to developing modern infrastructure throughout the region,” Zurab Pataradze said.

Works are currently underway in the Khutsubani Administrative Unit of Kobuleti Municipality. The project envisages the rehabilitation of an 850-metre road section. More than 30 families living in the villages of Meskhidzeebi and Bajelidzeebi will benefit from the upgraded road infrastructure.

Intensive works are also underway in the Machakhela Valley, including the reinforcement of retaining wall foundations and the laying of cement concrete pavement in four sections. Works at six additional locations are scheduled to begin within the next few days. The total cost of the project amounts to GEL 3,967,683.

Irakli Tsetskhladze, Mayor of Kobuleti; Zaza Diasamidze, Mayor of Khelvachauri; representatives of the Government of Ajara; the Roads Department; and local self-government officials also attended the site visit.
