Zurab Pataradze Holds Meeting with Residents of Khulo Municipality
Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, met with residents of the village of Ghorjomi and the town of Khulo.
The Chairman also visited local families, where he was informed about the needs of the population and the current challenges facing the municipality.
According to Zurab Pataradze, supporting mountain regions remains one of the Government’s key priorities, alongside the development of small and medium-sized businesses and tourism infrastructure. As he noted, it is important for every citizen to have the opportunity to live a decent life in their native villages, have access to employment, and increase their income.
‘We had a very meaningful meeting with the people living in the highlands. The development of the Goderdzi resort clearly demonstrates the importance of attracting investment to mountainous regions. Alongside this process, major infrastructure projects, including village gasification, road construction, and environmental protection initiatives, will continue actively.
We must take special care of our forests and natural resources, as deforestation increases the risk of avalanches and contributes to migration from mountain municipalities.
At the same time, we must pay particular attention to Ajarian eco-migrants. Together, we will visit Samtskhe-Javakheti, Tsalka, Kakheti, Nasakirali, Zodi, and all other places where our eco-migrant families live, to meet them personally and ensure they feel the support of the Government of Ajara,’ said Zurab Pataradze.
The meeting also focused on the tourism potential of Khulo Municipality. It was noted that special attention will be paid to the promotion and development of Beshumi, Green Lake, Black Lake, and the Alpine Botanical Garden.
According to Zurab Pataradze, active work will continue across all six municipalities in order to create more opportunities and improve the well-being of the region’s population.
