Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, attended a mass baptism in the village of Khichauri, Shuakhevi Municipality, alongside Mikheil Qavelashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili, and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tsotne Ananidze.

The religious service took place within the Eparchy of Skhalta, at the Church of the Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, located at St. Tbel Abuseridze University (an institution of the Patriarchate of Georgia) and was conducted by His Holiness and Beatitude, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, Shio III.

Following the service, the Patriarch baptized over 1,200 individuals and bestowed his blessing upon the newly baptized.
