Zurab Pataradze and Mariam Kvrivishvili visit Batumi INternatioanl Airport

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, together with Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, inspected the works carried out at Batumi International Airport in preparation for the upcoming season.

Batumi International Airport is fully prepared to welcome the summer tourist season and serve the increased flow of visitors without delays. Tea Zakaradze, General Manager of TAV Georgia, briefed the Chairman and the Minister on the ongoing operations and presented plans for the airport’s future development. The parties also discussed preparations for the navigation season, updated flight schedules, and ways to ensure efficient services for the growing number of passengers.

Within the framework of the project, new spaces will be added to the Batumi International Airport terminal, increasing the airport’s capacity by 22-25%. In 2025, annual passenger traffic at Batumi International Airport reached a record high of 1,230,200 passengers, which is 29% higher compared to 2024.

Tamar Ioseliani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, also attended the meeting. Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara, and Tinatin Zoidze, Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara, attended the site visit.
