Veterans Day marked in Georgia
Chairman of the Government of Ajara Sulkhan Tamazashvili congratulated veterans on this day and attended an event held at Batumi State University.
Organized by the Ajara Department of the State Service for Veterans Affairs, a tournament was held among veterans in various sports. A competition was also held among the children of veterans, and the winners were awarded symbolic gifts.
As a part of the event, representatives of the command structure of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and employees of the State Service for Veterans Affairs met with students of Batumi State University. At the meeting, they spoke about the merits and dedication of veterans.
Veterans Day is marked annually in Georgia in honor of the worthy service and sacrifice of veterans to the country.
Along with the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, the heroes were congratulated on Veterans Day by the Acting Mayor of Batumi, Giorgi Tsintsadze; the Head of the Ajara Division of the State Service for Veterans' Affairs, Shota Kipiani; and the Rector of Batumi State University, Tite Aroshidze.
