The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, together with the Minister of Economy of Georgia, visit the Batumi Maritime Academy

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara together with Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia inspected the educational infrastructure of the Batumi State Maritime Academy.  

The Chairman and the Minister visited the Seafarers' Training Center, where they inspected the modern simulators and technical equipment used in the training process. This infrastructure provides seafarers with the opportunity to develop their professional skills and train in conditions close to the real working environment.

It is notable that 2 500 000 Gel has been allocated from the republican budget of Ajara for the academy this year. Out of which, 200 000 Gel will be spent for renovation of the academy’s material-technical base that will contribute to the development of educational operations, enhance practical studies and create educational environment of international standards.     

Tamar Ioseliani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Ivane Abashidze, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia; Maia Khajishvili, Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara; Murtaz Devadze, Rector of the Maritime Academy and the representatives of the Government of Ajara attended the site visit.
