Summer Tourist Season Officially Opens in Batumi

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia organized an event in Batumi dedicated to the opening of the summer tourist season. Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, attended the event together with Tsotne Ananidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and representatives of legislative and executive authorities.

Zurab Pataradze addressed the audience and noted that the country’s pragmatic policy is based on approaches focused on strength, security, and development. He emphasized that the involvement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia plays a crucial role in this process.

‘Batumi is fully prepared for the summer season with renewed infrastructure and services, new tourism products, new opportunities, and outstanding hospitality. All of this is the result of the pragmatic policy of the Government of Georgia, which is based on strengthening the country, ensuring security, achieving success, and building a better future.

I would like to especially highlight the role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. When we talk about the safety of the country, tourism development, raising awareness, and progress, the contribution of every employee is crucial. I would like to express my gratitude to the entire staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their tireless work, dedication, and contribution to the country’s development. Our unity and coordinated efforts remain a key priority,’ said Zurab Pataradze.

Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, opened the event and spoke about the readiness of relevant services and units for the tourist season.

‘The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is entering the new summer season with renewed equipment and modern technologies, ensuring enhanced safety for our citizens. Additional police and rescue forces have been mobilized in Ajara to ensure public safety and maintain order.

Millions of visitors come to Ajara during the summer season. Therefore, public safety remains our top priority.

I would like to thank every employee of the Ministry and all those who take care of the safety of our citizens and guests 24 hours a day. Their professionalism and strong sense of responsibility contribute to positioning our country on the global tourism map as a leading, safe, and attractive destination,’ said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.

At the end of the official ceremony, a water rescue simulation exercise was held involving specialized equipment.
