Sulkhan Tamazashvili: The New Sports Infrastructure will contribute to the Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle in the Region and create New Opportunities for the Development of Sports in the Municipality

Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, together with Revaz Sokhadze, Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia, reviewed planned sports infrastructure projects in Ajara financed by the Municipal Development Fund.

A multi-functional sports complex and a rugby stadium are planned for construction in Kobuleti Municipality. Sulkhan Tamazashvili and Revaz Sokhadze inspected the designated construction sites.

Construction works for the multi-functional sports complex are actively underway. The project envisages a facility with a capacity of 500 seats, swimming pools, a gym, as well as cultural and educational spaces.

A rugby stadium is also planned in the village of Khutsubani, Kobuleti Municipality. The project includes the dismantling of the existing, depreciated rugby infrastructure. It will be replaced by a new 250-seat stadium equipped with modern facilities. A new administrative building will also be constructed, housing locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, and dedicated spaces for referees, coaches, and medical staff, along with other supporting facilities.

Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara; Mzia Giorgobiani, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia; Beka Urushadze, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund; and Irakli Tsetskhladze, Mayor of Kobuleti, also attended the site visit and reviewed the projects.
