Sulkhan Tamazashvili reviews Ongoing Winter Tourist Season at Goderdzi Resort

Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, reviewed the ongoing winter tourist season at Goderdzi Resort and held a working meeting.

The meeting focused on ski resort development, existing challenges, and future prospects. It was noted that positive growth dynamics have been maintained in terms of tourist flows and the development of hospitality infrastructure.

‘Tourism is being developed in Mountainous Ajara actively. The number of visits reached half a million in 2025. Goderdzi ski resort, distinguished by its modern infrastructure and European-standard slopes made a great contribution to this. The resort is becoming more and more popular among foreign tourists. Positive growth dynamics have been maintained in terms of development hospitality infrastructure. Process of improving road infrastructure is actively underway. Our goal is to further strengthen the region and make it attractive for tourism in all four seasons,” – Sulkhan Tamazashvili said.

Members of the Government of Ajara, the member of the Parliament of Georgia Anzor Bolkvadze, representatives of the local government and the Director of the Mountain Trails Agency Irakli Burchuladze attended the meeting.   

Infrastructure at Goderdzi Resort has been expanding every year. Several new hotels began operating during the current season.

The Chairman inspected newly opened facilities on site and noted that the implemented infrastructure projects enhance the resort’s competitiveness, increase tourist flows, and further strengthen the mountainous region of Ajara economically.
