Sulkhan Tamazashvili Pays Tribute to Victims of Tsablana and Vashlovani Tragedies

Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives in the landslides in the villages of Tsablana and Vashlovani in Khulo Municipality, and laid flowers at the memorials.

Thirty-seven years have passed since the Tsablana tragedy. The landslide that occurred on April 19, 1989, claimed the lives of 23 people, including three children.

Twenty-eight years have passed since the Vashlovani tragedy. On April 18, 1998, a landslide struck the village, claiming the lives of six people.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tsotne Ananidze; the Mayor of Khulo, Vakhtang Beridze; members of the Supreme Council of Ajara; and representatives of local self-government also attended the ceremony.
