Sulkhan Tamazashvili meets with the National Teachers Award Winnters
The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, together with the Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara, Maia Khajishvili, met with the winners of the National Teacher Award.
This year, the winners of the National Award are two teachers from Ajara - Magdana Matitaishvili, a teacher from Batumi Public School, and Teimuraz Davitadze, a teacher from the Shuakhevi School.
Sulkhan Tamazashvili congratulated the teachers on their professional achievements, emphasising the importance of teachers in transforming young people into honourable, responsible, and patriotic citizens.
By the decision of the Government of Ajara, the winning teachers were additionally awarded a cash award in the amount of 5,000 GEL.
The previous year's winning teachers attended the meeting as well. The award was given to Khulo Municipality Public School teacher Nazi Mikeladze and Batumi Public School teacher Venera Abuseridze in 2023, and to Nani Kirkitadze and Ana Anushidze of Khelvachauri Municipality Public School in 2024.
In 2025, the National Teacher Award and a cash award of 10,000 GEL were presented to 10 teachers for their outstanding contribution to the development of society and the education system.
