Sulkhan Tamazashvili meets with students who won the grant program
Chairman of the Government of Ajara Sulkhan Tamazashvili met with students who won the grant program. The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Sports of Ajara and provides financing of excellent students' studies abroad. This year, more than 100 students will be financed within the framework of the grant program.
At the meeting, together with Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Supreme Council Davit Gabaidze and Minister of Education and Sports Maia Khajishvili addressed the young people and congratulated them on their success.
Addressing the young people, Sulkhan Tamazashvili noted that the priority of the Government of Ajara is for young people in the region to have the opportunity to receive quality education.
‘For me and my team, it is a priority for young people to have the opportunity to receive quality education and we will do everything for this. I am sure that the young people will use the knowledge and experience they have gained to develop our region and country. The Ajara government will continue to assist successful students through various programs, as well as provide financial support to higher educational institutions operating in the region in order to improve infrastructure and material and technical base,’ said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
The Chairman of the Government also introduced a new initiative to the young people, which envisages a 1,000 GEL scholarship for excellent students per semester. The Ajara Ministry of Education and Sports will start issuing scholarships from the new academic year.
