Sulkhan Tamazashvili meets with Permanent Representatives to the United Nations

Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the Chairman of Autonomous Republic of Ajara met with the Permanent Representatives accredited with the United Nations.  

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Government praised the ambassadors for their expressed interest in the region as well as the UN organization's active actions, which benefit Ajara and the country as a whole in a variety of ways.

Sulkhan Tamazashvili particularly noted the UN's contribution to the protection of human rights and the promotion of the decentralization process, as well as the implementation of various large-scale projects in the region, including rural development and urban infrastructure. 

The annual visit of the UN Permanent Representatives to Ajara is significant in terms of strengthening cooperation and expanding international support for the region's development.

The Chairman Tamazashvili thanked Mr. David Bakradze, the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN for promoting Georgia’s active engagement on the international platform.
