Sulkhan Tamazashvili attends the Public Holiday Machakhloba
The traditional folk festival Machakhloba was held in the Machakhela Valley, Ajara. Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, attended the event, congratulated local residents and guests on the public holiday, and addressed the audience.
In his speech, Sulkhan Tamazashvili emphasized that the Government of Ajara is making every effort to fully develop the tourism potential of the Machakhela Valley. He noted that the Ethno Village project has been launched, which envisages the rehabilitation of historic and ethnographic monuments, as well as the implementation of several tourism and infrastructure projects.
‘The beautiful Machakhela Valley has great tourism potential. We are doing our best to help Georgian and international visitors become better acquainted with the valley’s historic and ethnographic monuments. The Ethno Village project is currently being implemented, which includes the construction of community centers, the restoration of historic and ethnographic monuments, as well as the development of several tourism infrastructure projects. By preserving our traditions and fostering unity, we will be able to turn the Machakhela Valley into a distinguished tourist destination, which will improve the social and economic conditions of local residents,’– said Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Government of Ajara.
Honorable residents of the Machakhela Valley were recognized with awards as part of the celebration. Cultural and sporting activities, as well as an ethno market, were also organized.
The festivities concluded with a concert featuring both local and invited performers.
The event was attended by Davit Gabaidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara; members of the Government of Ajara; Zaza Diasamidze, Mayor of Khelvachauri Municipality; and Besik Amiranashvili, Head of the Agency of Protected Areas.
