Sulkhan Tamazashvili attends a meeting promoting agricultural development
The Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara, as part of its efforts to assist the development of agricultural unions and family farms, will co-finance the purchase of equipment for up to 7,000 farmers this year.
According to the Chairman of the Government, supporting agriculture is one of the most important jobs of the state and society because it is directly tied to both the country's economic development and the well-being of its people.
At the meeting, Ajara Minister of Agriculture Denis Salukvadze presented agricultural development ideas. Several key projects are being developed with the help of Ajara's Ministry of Agriculture, with the purpose of strengthening household farms and agricultural groups, expanding their access to financial resources, and increasing the agri-food sector's competitiveness.
The occasion was attended by Georgia's Minister of Justice, Paata Salia; the Chairman of the Supreme Council; leaders from the legislative and executive branches; local farmers, and Faculty of Agriculture students.
