Sulkhan Tamazashvili: Ajara has always been and is one of the Distinctive and Special Centers of Georgian Culture
Mikheil Kavelashvili, President of Georgia, upon the nomination of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze and Chairman of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, awarded representatives of the cultural sphere with Georgian state awards - the Orders of Excellence and Honor.
Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Chairman of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara congratulated the representatives of the cultural sphere on receiving awards and addressed the audience.
'Awarding cultural representatives demonstrates the state's gratitude and respect for individuals who have committed their life to maintaining our country, Georgian culture, and traditions. Ajara has always been and continues to be one of Georgia's most renowned cultural centers. I am glad that there are people working in our region that not only represent it with respect, but also contribute to the country's cultural life through their inventiveness on a daily basis. I'd like to offer my heartfelt appreciation to them for their effort, selfless work, and passing these principles down to future generations. We, of course, along with the central government, will continue to foster and strengthen Georgian culture’ – Sulkhan Tamazashvili said.
Members of the Elders’ Choreographic Ensemble ‘Pesvebi’ from Shuakhevi municipality received the state awards including choreograph, musician-accompanists and dancers.
Thirty representatives of various professions were awarded state awards for their outstanding contribution to the development of the cultural sphere.
Mikheil Kavelashvili, the President of Georgia; Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia; Shalva Papuashvili, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and Tinatin Rukhadze, the Minister of Culture of Georgia congratulated the representatives of the Cultural sphere on receiving the state rewards. The awards ceremony held in the presidential palace was attended by the member of parliament and representatives of the cultural sphere.
