Peace Education Center Opens at BSU

The Peace Education Center was officially opened at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The new facility focuses on promoting non-violent conflict resolution, human rights, and tolerance, empowering the next generation of young people to participate in community peacebuilding initiatives.

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara; Givi Mikanadze, Minister of Education, Science and Youth; and Giorgi Volski, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, attended the opening ceremony.

Tite Aroshidze, Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, hosted the guests and briefed them on the center’s activities and future plans.

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara noted that supporting such educational platforms is particularly important considering the historical, cultural, and religious diversity of the region.

As part of the event, an exhibition of thematic paintings by students of Peria Public School was organized, and a performance by the creative group of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was presented.

Representatives of legislative and executive authorities, members of the Governments of Abkhazia and Ajara, and invited guests also attended the opening ceremony.
