Meeting with Bursa Governor Erol Ayyıldız

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, met with Erol Ayyıldız, Governor of Bursa Province. He was accompanied by Archil Kalandia, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Türkiye.

The meeting highlighted the strong strategic partnership between Georgia and Türkiye. The parties reviewed the current dynamics of bilateral cooperation and discussed prospects for further strengthening ties between Ajara and Bursa Province.

“The Republic of Türkiye is our strategic partner and a close friend. Our bilateral relations are developing successfully across a number of areas, including trade, the economy and culture. It is especially important that a large Georgian diaspora lives in Bursa. We had a very productive meeting and discussed tourism, its development potential, sister-city cooperation and a number of other important issues,” Zurab Pataradze said.

The parties also emphasized the importance of strengthening trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Türkiye and Azerbaijan, noting that this format serves as an important platform for regional partnership.

Zurab Pataradze thanked the Turkish side for its continued support for Georgia on international platforms and reaffirmed Ajara’s readiness to further deepen its partnership, friendship and cooperation with Bursa Province.

The meeting was also attended by Aleksandre Jishkariani, Consul General of Georgia in Bursa; Eliso Bolkvadze, Minister of Culture of Ajara; and Gia Chkonia, Member of the Parliament of Georgia.
