Development of Equestrian Infrastructure Actively Underway in Khulo Municipality

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, inspected the ongoing construction of equestrian infrastructure in the village of Ghorjomi, Khulo Municipality. Government officials and representatives of the local self-government accompanied the Chairman during the site visit.

According to Zurab Pataradze, the development of tourism in the highlands of Ajara remains one of the Government’s key priorities. As he noted, the new equestrian infrastructure will make Ghorjomi an even more attractive tourist destination and contribute to increasing tourist flows in Khulo Municipality.

‘Our unique highland region offers significant opportunities for tourism development. The construction of equestrian infrastructure in Ghorjomi is one of the most important initiatives currently being implemented. The project is based on the needs and interests of the local population and is being carried out through joint efforts.

The project, valued at 1.2 million GEL, is supported by the Government of Ajara and the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara. I am confident that this location will significantly strengthen the tourism potential of the region, encourage regional competitions, and most importantly, provide meaningful support to the local population,’ said the Chairman.

As part of the project, two modern riding arenas, administrative and auxiliary buildings, as well as spectator stands are being arranged. At this stage, the main construction and roofing works have already been completed, while the installation of doors and windows and the improvement of internal and external spaces are planned.

Anzor Bolkvadze, Member of the Parliament of Georgia; Vakhtang Beridze, Mayor of Khulo; Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara; and Tinatin Zoidze, Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts, also attended the site visit.
