Construction under ‘Batumi without Dilapidated Houses’ Programme Underway at Three Sites

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, inspected the ongoing works as part of the ‘Batumi without Dilapidated Houses Program.

Construction is actively underway at three sites. After the completion of the works, 570 families will receive well-equipped apartments.

Sulkhan Tamazashvili noted that dilapidated houses have been one of the main challenges of Batumi for years, and the implementation of the program will create a safe and decent living environment for Batumi residents.

As part of the project, an 8-storey building will be built on Selim Khimshiashvili Street. At this stage, the arrangement of the external facade and internal space is underway. In parallel, the construction of a 12-storey residential building is underway on Mayakovsky Street. At this stage, the main construction works have been completed and the arrangement of external and internal spaces is underway. Also, two 8-storey buildings will be built in the so-called Shanghai settlement.

After the completion of the program, new, modern and safe residential apartments will be handed over to all people in need.

Together with the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, the Head of the Government's Office Jaba Surmanidze and the Acting Mayor of Batumi Giorgi Tsintsadze inspected the progress of the works.
