Construction of a new Large-scale hotel complex begins in Batumi
Batumi is seeing the start of development on a new large-scale hotel complex.
The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, attended the occasion marking the commencement of ORBI Continental construction alongside Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
In his statement, the Chairman of the Ajara Government stated that collaborative efforts will provide new prospects for the country's development and the well-being of its population.
‘One of our state policy goals is to strengthen tourism infrastructure and encourage investment. The new large-scale initiative of the "Orbi Group" is a prime illustration of this. This project not only fulfils modern requirements, but also contributes to our region's tourism potential, economic development, and job creation. Tourism is one of Georgia's fastest expanding industries, and the Adjara region is particularly impressive in this regard. Our goal is to be a center of attraction in all four seasons, so that the opportunities that tourism brings can be used to improve the socio-economic situation of the local population. I am confident that with joint efforts we will create new opportunities for the development of our country and the well-being of its citizens,’ said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
At the end of the event, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara Sulkhan Tamazashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, and General Director of Orbi Group Irakli Kvergelidze lowered a symbolic capsule into the foundation of the building.
A new large-scale hotel complex will be built on Batumi Boulevard, on the seashore. The complex will consist of two skyscrapers, 55 and 37 floors high.
