Chairman of the Government of Ajara Zurab Pataradze congratulated World War II veteran Ketevan Loria on Victory Day
Chairman of the Government of Ajara Zurab Pataradze, together with Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara Tsotne Ananidze and Head of the Ajara Department of the State Service for Veterans' Affairs Shota Kipiani, congratulated World War II veteran Ketevan Loria on Victory Day and handed over a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Chairman of the Government visited the war veteran with his wife and thanked him for his service to the country. Zurab Pataradze noted that caring for war veterans and ensuring decent living conditions for them is one of the main obligations of the government.
'It is our job to care for the war veterans who are by our side. It is critical to provide improved living conditions for them. Your life is a shining example for the next generation and will never be forgotten,' stated the Chairman of the Government.
Ketevan Loria served in World War II for three years and five months. Following the war, she continued to teach for 56 years. During a conversation with Ketevan Loria, the wife of the Chairman of the Government, Sofio Bakuridze, drew attention to episodes in her teaching career and noted that our region is adorned with outstanding personalities, and Mrs. Ketevan is one of those who are examples of professional activity.
Ketevan Loria will soon turn 103 years old. It is noteworthy that within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Ajara, citizens over 100 years old registered in Ajara receive 5,000 GEL assistance annually on their birthday.
War veterans are eligible for all programs offered by Ajara's Ministry of Health. In addition, the Batumi City Hall runs specific social projects. In addition, this year, the Georgian government issued a decree commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Victory against Fascism, providing additional one-time financial support.
On the occasion of the Victory over Fascism Day, on May 9, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of Ajara paid tribute to the memory of those who died in World War II and decorated the memorial of the Georgian captain - Anatoly Kacharava with flowers.
