Chairman of the Government of Ajara Zurab Pataradze awards successful athletes of Batumi

Awarding ceremony of the best athletes, coaches and sports was held in Batumi.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Government of Ajara Zurab Pataradze, along with representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the region.

The ceremonial event was opened by the Mayor of Batumi Giorgi Tsintsadze. Along with the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara Tsotne Ananidze and the Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara Maia Khajishvili addressed the audience.

The Chairman of the Government stated that, in addition to developing sports infrastructure, it is critical to support young people and provide them with new opportunities. According to Zurab Pataradze, a lot of key projects and initiatives are planned to strengthen the sports sector, which will help to advance sports in the region.

'It is a huge honour for me to attend today's event. Years ago, along with many of you, I laid the foundation for the creation of this magnificent stadium, and it is heartening to see that it is now one of our region's and country's main attractions.

We can confidently assert that Ajara is the birthplace of champions. We observe how many energetic young people are working hard to make future even better.

I'm delighted we were given the opportunity to recognise our athletes. We shall do everything we can to expand sporting opportunities. I would like to highlight the contributions of our veteran athletes. Their experience is a great motivation for our youth,’ said Zurab Pataradze.
