Chairman of the Government of Ajara Welcomes Luxembourg Air Expedition to Batumi to Explore Tourism and Aviation Investments

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, alongside the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of the Georgian Mission to the European Union, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, hosted members of a prominent air expedition that arrived in Georgia from Luxembourg via private aircraft.

 

Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and organized by the Honorary Consul of Georgia in Luxembourg, the high-profile air expedition aims to strategically market Georgia's premium tourism and investment capabilities. Furthermore, the initiative is designed to strengthen professional networks and deepen bilateral cooperation between the private aviation sectors of Georgia and Europe.

 

The delegation is scheduled to remain in Georgia until September 8, during which members will tour various regions across the country and participate in the official opening ceremony of the "Aviation Village" in Kachreti.

 

As part of their official itinerary in Batumi, the expedition participants conducted an on-site visit to the "Ambassador Island Batumi" mega-project. The delegates were briefed on the current phases of construction, the completed foundational works, and the overarching master development vision. Special emphasis was placed on the planned aviation infrastructure, specifically the development of a dedicated runway designed to accommodate private aviation flights directly on the island.

 

This critical infrastructure component aligns with the island’s broader strategic goal to enhance air connectivity between Georgia's various regions, local premium resorts, and international hubs.

 

The official meeting and site visit were also attended by Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara, and Gocha Kamkia, General Director of "Ambassador Island."
