Chairman of the Government of Ajara Meets with Western Georgia Medical Sector Representatives

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, alongside the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjveladze, held a working meeting with representatives of medical institutions operating across Western Georgia.

 

The discussions focused on the implementation of the primary healthcare reform, ongoing processes, and strategic future plans within the sector.

 

Zurab Pataradze underscored that providing high-quality, timely, and accessible medical services to the population remains a core priority for the regional government, noting that funding for the healthcare sector continues to increase annually.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives from 50 medical institutions in Western Georgia. In addition to the Chairman of Ajara and the Minister of Health of Georgia, the participants were addressed by Nino Nizharadze, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of Ajara, and Zaza Lominadze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Healthcare and Social Issues.

 

The primary healthcare reform aims to expand medical services for citizens by increasing access to advanced laboratory and instrumental examinations. These changes are designed to strengthen the role of primary healthcare specialists, promote vaccination and screening initiatives, and significantly elevate the overall quality of care.
