Chairman of the Government of Ajara Inspects Strategic Infrastructure Projects in Khulo Municipality

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, conducted a site inspection to review the progress of major tourism and transport infrastructure developments at the Goderdzi resort and Green Lake area within the Khulo Municipality. The tour also focused on the ongoing comprehensive rehabilitation of the Danisparauli-Velati-Mtsvane Tba road.

At Mtsvane Tba, infrastructure works have advanced significantly, with the completion of a 350-meter access road and a 90-meter walking trail. Future development plans include the construction of a one-kilometer scenic trail encompassing the perimeter of the lake. During his visit, Chairman Pataradze engaged with tourists, underlining that the highlands of Ajara are systematically evolving into a premier, year-round tourist destination. He emphasized that these targeted infrastructure projects aim to improve conditions for visitors, diversify the region's tourism offerings, and stimulate new economic opportunities for the local population.

Simultaneously, the development of sustainable tourism infrastructure is steadily progressing at the Goderdzi resort. Key facilities, including an exhibition space, a bus terminal, and an open-air parking area, are scheduled for completion within the current year, alongside the ongoing rehabilitation of a 500-meter internal roadway. Furthermore, the design phase for the ski slope's night-lighting system and the construction of an additional water reservoir to optimize the resort's water supply framework will be finalized by the end of the year.

The extensive rehabilitation of the Danisparauli–Velati/Mtsvane Tba road has also entered its final stage. A reinforced cement-concrete surface has already been successfully laid across a 6.2-kilometer section, with the remaining concluding works expected to be completed in the coming days. This vital transport artery connects the village of Danisparauli with Mtsvane Tba and the Goderdzi Pass, fundamentally enhancing travel safety and comfort for both local residents and tourists.

The monitoring visit was attended by Anzor Bolkvadze, Member of the Parliament of Georgia; Minur Paksadze, Member of the Supreme Council of Adara; Vakhtang Beridze, Mayor of the Khulo Municipality; Fridon Papidze, Director of the Goderdzi Resort; and representatives of the local self-government.
