Chairman of the Government of Ajara Evaluates Modernization of Educational Infrastructure in Kobuleti Municipality Ahead of New Academic Year

Prior to the commencement of the new academic year, the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, alongside the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tsotne Ananidze, and Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Gia Chkonia, conducted a comprehensive inspection of ongoing educational infrastructure projects across Kobuleti Municipality.

 

Currently, extensive rehabilitation works are actively underway across six public schools and six kindergartens within the municipality. Looking ahead, structural renewals are scheduled to begin at five additional public schools, alongside plans for the construction of two brand-new public school buildings. Furthermore, construction has successfully concluded on a new kindergarten facility.

 

According to the Chairman of the Government, upgrading educational infrastructure and establishing modern, secure learning environments for youth remain paramount priorities for the regional administration. He emphasized that the modernization of schools and early childhood development centers will continue aggressively across the region to guarantee optimal learning conditions.

 

During the itinerary, officials reviewed progress at the Tskavroka Public School, which is undergoing complete internal remodeling, engineering communication upgrades, facade and roof rehabilitation, and extensive landscaping of the campus grounds. Concurrently, a local kindergarten designed to accommodate 105 children is receiving a top-to-bottom infrastructure overhaul.

 

The Chairman also inspected the completion of the initial phase of rehabilitation at the historic, century-old Akaki Tsereteli Public School No. 1 in Kobuleti. This phase delivered a new, open-air multifunctional sports field, renovated tennis courts, and a restored building facade. The subsequent phase of the project will focus entirely on the full refurbishment of the school's interior spaces.

 

Additionally, Chairman Pataradze observed the regional distribution and procurement process of school uniforms in Kobuleti, engaging with incoming first-graders and their parents to extend his best wishes for the academic year. To ensure accessibility, uniform distribution has been streamlined through eight physical retail points across the region as well as a dedicated e-commerce platform. Under the government's social support framework, students from vulnerable socio-economic backgrounds and large families will receive their school uniforms free of charge.

 

The inspection tour was also attended by Maia Khajishvili, Minister of Education and Sports of Ajara; Irakli Tsetskhladze, Mayor of Kobuleti Municipality; Ioseb Zhgenti, Chairman of the Kobuleti Municipality Sakrebulo; and senior officials from the Ajara Government, the Supreme Council, and local self-governments.
