Chairman of the Government of Ajara Congratulates Students and Teachers on the Start of the New School Year in Batumi and Kobuleti

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, alongside Tsotne Ananidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, and Maia Khajishvili, Minister of Education, Culture, and Sport of Ajara, extended their congratulations to students, teachers, and parents across the region's public schools on the commencement of the new academic year.

Attending celebratory events at Batumi Public Schools No. 1 and No. 2, as well as Kobuleti Public School No. 2, the Chairman highlighted the landmark achievements of ongoing educational reforms. He emphasized that establishing equitable learning environments and implementing modern educational standards remain top priorities for the government.

While touring the newly renovated library at Batumi Public School No. 2, Zurab Pataradze met with the teaching staff to discuss their vital role in student development. He noted that the dedication of teachers is foundational to the country’s progress, stating that unity and mutual respect within the school community form an unbroken chain in national advancement. The Head of Government also reaffirmed that phased school construction and rehabilitation initiatives will continue aggressively across the region.

Notably, the historic building of Batumi Public School No. 2, a designated cultural heritage monument and one of the city's oldest structures, has undergone a comprehensive restoration to meet modern standards. This academic year, it features a fully rehabilitated library equipped with contemporary furnishings to offer students a comfortable, modern learning space.

During his visit to Kobuleti Public School No. 2, the Chairman shared a poignant moment, noting that returning to his alma mater was a deeply moving experience. In his remarks, he stressed that robust inter-agency coordination must persist across all municipalities of Ajara to guarantee unrestricted, equal opportunities for every child.

This year, 5,658 first-graders entered classrooms across Ajara. Batumi marks the start of the academic year with four brand-new and two completely overhauled modern schools, while full or partial rehabilitation works have been successfully completed in 25 public schools region-wide.
