Chairman of the Government of Ajara Attends "Gemo Fest" Gastronomic Festival in Batumi

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, attended the "Gemo Fest" gastronomic festival currently being hosted in Batumi. The high-level delegation also included the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tsotne Ananidze.

During the visit, government officials toured the various pavilions established for the festival. The specialized event features dedicated spaces for local entrepreneurship, agricultural exhibitions, viticulture, culinary arts, and children's entertainment, offering a comprehensive showcase of regional assets.

Approximately 20 diverse enterprises are participating in this year's festival, notably including entrepreneurial initiatives led by internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia.

Initiated and organized by the National Tourism Administration since 2022, "Gemo Fest" serves as a strategic platform to preserve and promote Georgia's rich culinary heritage. The festival allows domestic and international visitors to explore unique gastronomic traditions, experience rare and lesser-known regional dishes, and engage in diverse cultural programming.

The official itinerary concluded with a tour of the public recreational spaces along Batumi Boulevard, specifically the designated festival grounds situated adjacent to the State Maritime Academy.

The event was also attended by key state officials, including Maia Omiadze, Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia; Revaz Sokhadze, Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia; Tornike Paghava, Member of Parliament; Lasha Abashidze, Director General of Georgian Railways; and Giorgi Tsintsadze, Mayor of Batumi, alongside senior representatives from the Government of Ajara, the Supreme Council, and the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.
