Chairman of the Government of Ajara Attends Forum Dedicated to International Youth Day

Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, accompanied by his spouse, Sophio Bakuridze, attended a regional forum dedicated to celebrating International Youth Day.

The forum was officially opened by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara, Maia Khajishvili, who emphasized the vital importance of supporting the Regional Youth Center. Following the opening remarks, Chairman Zurab Pataradze and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tsotne Ananidze, extended their congratulations to the event participants on International Youth Day.

During his address, the Chairman of the Government highlighted that continuous cooperation with the younger generation, their active involvement in the decision-making process, and steadfast support for their innovative ideas and initiatives remain critical prerequisites for the sustainable development of the region.

"Young people represent the vital intellectual resource, the knowledge, and the ultimate future of our country. Therefore, their active engagement in decision-making processes and the implementation of various projects is critically important," stated Chairman Zurab Pataradze. "It is alongside them that we must map out new initiatives and foster more expansive opportunities. These thematic meetings will continue, and we will actively listen to and definitely integrate the ideas of our youth regarding various regional projects and startups."

The forum brought together more than 200 young representatives from all six municipalities of Ajara. During the session, the Head of the Regional Youth Center, Nino Dolidze, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the center’s ongoing and future activities. Additionally, the young participants actively presented their own perspectives on public policy issues and engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening the role of youth in governance and policy formulation.

The International Youth Day celebrations continued with a dynamic festival, which features a wide array of cognitive and entertainment activities, alongside live concerts featuring both invited and local performers.The formal working forum was also attended by senior representatives from the legislative and executive authorities of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, as well as officials from local self-governments.
