Batumi wins Another Award as Europe's Leading 4-season Tourist Destination
Batumi has been Recognized as Europe’s Leading All-Season Tourist Destination at the World Travel Awards.
The chairman of the government of Ajara Sulkhan Tamazashvili, attended the awards ceremony in Italy, accompanied by a regional delegation of government officials. In his official statement, Chairman Tamazashvili underscored the significant achievement for Georgia’s tourism sector and long-term development strategy of the Government.
“This distinguished recognition of Batumi is the result of the collaborative efforts of central and local governments, the private sector, and the local community. The development and promotion of the tourism sector remain among the top priorities of the government. Tourism not only drives economic development but also serves as a powerful instrument for presenting our country’s cultural identity to the world.
Our rich history, traditions, and values are making Georgia truly exceptional. By preserving these values, we can enhance the tourism potential of our regions, thereby improve the welfare of our citizens and contributing to the sustainable development of the entire nation.”
Members of the official delegation were the Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara, Tinatin Zoidze, and the Acting Mayor Giorgi Tsintsadze.
The ceremony brought together leading representatives of the global travel industry. Among Batumi’s competitors were several renowned European destinations, including Budapest, Geneva, Munich, Oslo, Salzburg, Stockholm, and Tallinn.
Since its establishment in 1993, the World Travel Awards have been recognizing outstanding achievements in the tourism, travel, and hospitality sectors. The awards encompass hundreds of categories divided by continents and countries, highlighting exceptional contributions to the global tourism industry.
