Ajara Region Hosts Delegation from Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship

The Ajara region is hosting a delegation from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of the Republic of Poland.

Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara, along with the government officials, met with Paweł Gancarz, the Marshal of Lower Silesia.

The parties discussed the existing partnership relations between Georgia and Poland, trade and economic ties, the dynamics of cooperation in the tourism sector, and opportunities for deepening relations between the regions.

Zurab Pataradze emphasized that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the interregional friendship and partnership between the Ajara region and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Five municipalities of Ajara are closely twinned with cities in Lower Silesia. Over these years, there has been a systematic exchange of tourism and cultural potential, alongside successful cooperation between the departments. 

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the prospects of developing cooperation in the tourism sector. The parties emphasized the importance of promoting Ajara in the Polish tourism market. It was noted that the Autonomous Republic of Ajara regularly participates in international tourism exhibitions held in Poland, which contributes to increasing the region's awareness and attracting tourist flows from Poland.

As part of the meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Ajara, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Ajara, and the Department of Tourism and Resorts presented overviews of their activities and ongoing projects. 

The Minister of Finance and Economy of Ajara, Ednar Nataridze; the Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Denis Salukvadze; the Mayor of Batumi, Giorgi Tsintsadze; the Senior Advisor of the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Poland, Revaz Saqvarelidze; as well as members of the Government of Ajara and the Lower Silesian delegation attended the meeting.
