At the Government Session, the Chairman of the Government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, congratulated the first-year students on becoming students and noted that caring for the future generation is one of the main priorities of the Ajara Government. According to Sulkhan Tamazashvili, students who have received a state educational grant will be awarded a cash prize from the Ajara Government.

‘Supporting the future generation is a priority for us. It is noteworthy that Ajara is welcoming the new academic year with an updated infrastructure. It is of utmost importance for us to create an educational infrastructure with modern standards in the region so that students can receive education in an appropriate environment,’ said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.

In 2025, 27 public schools in all six municipalities were rehabilitated. The construction of four schools and two sports halls will be completed by the end of the year. Rehabilitation works are also underway for 7 public schools. At this stage, a tender has been announced for the full and partial rehabilitation of 14 schools.

The Chairman of the Government of Ajara noted that it is important to constantly improve the socio-economic situation of the region and spoke about the current developments in this direction –

‘We are pursuing our main goal, which involves further improving the socio-economic situation in the region and taking maximum care of the needs of the population. We also have good news in this direction, the construction of a multi-apartment residential building in Khelvachauri municipality will be completed in a month and 90 eco-migrant families will receive well-furnished apartments.’

At the meeting, Sulkhan Tamazashvili spoke about the preparations for the local government elections and noted that worthy candidates for mayor and council membership have been nominated in all municipalities.

I would like to touch on the local government elections. I am confident that we will win a convincing victory and continue to strengthen the region. Today, the choice of the Georgian people, along with the development of the country, is peace and stability. We have worthy, professional and qualified candidates for mayor and council membership in all six municipalities. Their plans, vision and goals are aimed at the development of the municipality. And in all this, they will have my full support,’ Sulkhan Tamazashvili said at the Adjara Government session.
