As the chairman noted, stability and country’s development oriented policy enabled economic growth of the region.

‘Policy of our government is vivid and peace oriented, as wells as stability and development. It is against this backdrop of stability that the economic development of the region has become possible. The budget has increased by 10 percent compared to 2025. The budget increase gives us the opportunity to direct more resources to citizens, regional development, and priority areas,’ said Sulkhan Tamazashvili.

The chairman highlighted several important issues. According to him, increasing access to medical services remains a key objective in the healthcare sector. 100 000 citizens benefited from the healthcare programs during a year. The next year’s budget is increasing, accordingly, the number of both programs and beneficiaries will increase.

Speaking about the education sector, Sulkhan Tamazashvili noted that education is the basis for the country's long-term development. In 2025, the learning environment for more than 10,000 students in the region was improved, 2 new public schools were built and 30 schools were rehabilitated. According to the Chairman of the Government, the increase in the budget in this direction allows this process to continue uninterrupted.

Agriculture is a top priority. In 2025, agricultural programs will help approximately 29,000 farmers. Sulkhan Tamazashvili also presented the most recent citrus export figures, stating that the citrus season is continuing smoothly. According to him, up to 24,000 tonnes of tangerines have been exported to date, totalling more than $13 million. In addition, almost 12 thousand tonnes of substandard tangerines were processed, resulting in more than 4 million GEL in subsidies.

According to 9-month data, approximately 4 million visits were recorded in Ajara. According to Sulkhan Tamazashvili, next year it is planned to implement interesting and innovative projects so that the region is a center of tourist attraction and economic activity in all four seasons.
