Ajara AR Government Session

The topic of discussion at the Ajara government Session was how to be ready for the summer tourist season as well as the favorable trends in tourism and economic growth in the region.

After learning about the tourist season preparations, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the chairman of the Ajara Government, gave the appropriate agencies instructions to make sure the area is ready to receive visitors.

During the meeting, it was mentioned that a significant section of Batumi's Rustaveli Street had been fully restored. The remaining parts will be finished before the season begins and are currently in an active state.

The dynamics of tourism expansion were also discussed by Ajara government representatives. The government's long-term plan, according to Sulkhan Tamazashvili, is for the area to serve as a hub for tourism and business throughout the year. He asserts that in order to guarantee an equitable distribution of chances and wealth among all communities, it is critical to fully harness the potential of the mountainous Adjara.

Positive prospects for economic growth in the region were mentioned at the government session. The current forecast is that Adjara's economy will grow by double digits in 2025. Additionally, the significant investment made in accordance with the terms of the contract between the Georgian government and Emaar Group—which includes the construction of multipurpose infrastructure in Gonio—will stimulate economic growth and provide new dynamics to the region's development sector.

Giorgi Murvanidze and Irakli Tsetskhladze, the acting mayors of Batumi and Kobuleti, who were attending the Adjara government session for the first time, were also wished well by Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
